RAAF Explosives Stores

Dispersed throughout Charles Darwin National Park are original explosives storage facilities used in and after World War II. Housing bombs and munitions, these structures were designed and camouflaged to blend in with the hills, valleys, and vegetation of the area. These shelters are still linked by the same roads that were used during the war, and scenic walks along them allow visitors to take a closer look at the stores.
