Opening hours:

9.30am - 5.00pm, 7 days a week (Dry season: 1 May - 31 October)

10.00am - 3.30pm, 7 days a week (Wet season: 1 November - 30 April)

Closed - Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Good Friday


Please note that the following admission prices are valid from September 2015 until further notice and will admit visitors to the two facilities at East Point ; the Defence of Darwin Experience and the Darwin Military Museum.

Adults - $18.00

Children (5-16 years) - $8.00

Children (0-5 years) FOC 

Families (2 adults; 2 children) - $40.00

Pensioners (>65 Territorian) - $8.00

Seniors/Pensioners (>65 Non Territorian) - $13.00

School groups:

$2 per student (Territorian) in school hours

$8 per student (Non Territorian)

A 'Territory' pass is available - this enables holders to free visits for one year after the initial payment of an entry fee.

Dedicated free car parking, including disabled parking, is located at the front of the Defence of Darwin Experience.  Additional parking is located across the East Point precinct and includes parking for buses.


Toilets, including disabled toilets, are available within the Defence of Darwin Experience.

Disabled Access:

The Defence of Darwin Experience is wheel-chair friendly with all exhibitions and facilities located on the ground floor.

Photography Policy:

Photography and videography is permitted in the exhibition galleries for private purposes only, using hand-held equipment and existing light only (no flash).  Photography and filming of objects on loan from the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory is permitted.  Photography and filming of all other loan objects is not allowed.  Labels state whether an object is from the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory's collection.
